in the late-1800s.
On 26th April 1838, Tom & Sarah Brown arrived in Australia from England, with his brother William “Bill” Brown & wife and family, plus their friend, Rev John Wheatley, and his family, to “evangelise the colony”. Initially, they settled at Cowpastures, near Cobbitty, in the [now] south-western suburbs of Sydney. Then they moved out to Jarrawa Creek, which soon became known as “Wesley Vale”, where they established a Wesleyan Church amongst cattle thieves and social outcasts. Later this town was renamed Dalton – 30 minutes’ drive NE of Yass, north of Canberra, Australia’s Capital Territory.

In 1938, their descendants held a centenary celebration at Dalton, producing a booklet called “Old Tom Brown of Wesley Vale“, which contains Tom & Sarah Brown’s history and their growing family tree – over 1000 descendants in 100 years! [We do not not have any spare copies of it but you can download and print it from http://tiny.cc/OldTomBrownOfWesleyVale1938
On 26th April 2038, we plan to hold a bicentennial family reunion (fondly referred to as “TB200“), probably at Cobbitty (Sydney). So, we are on the hunt for as many of the descendants of Old Tom Brown as we can find so we can invite them!
Please see the website: www.OldTomBrown.org for details.
If you are related (or know someone who is), please share the website link and contact us.
Thank you for helping us to find possibly tens of thousands of descendants so we can add them to our “The Legacy of Old Tom Brown” book and invite them to our bicentennial celebrations!
For more information about our 200th Anniversary celebration weekend, please see our website: www.OldTomBrown.org – see you there!

Can you help us find our relatives?
——anything below this point has nothing to do with the Tom Brown 200 or Kedesh ministries—–
